Intensive Autism Treatment Programs

Autism treatment programs that directly tackle the problem behavior are hard to find in Arkansas.  Most of the programs have the following problems.

1. Cost. By and large medicaid and private insurance will not pay for the programs. Parents must pay out of pocket for these services.

2. Staffing. Evaluation and program setup provided, but hiring day-to-day help is often left to the parents.  And doing intensive therapy is tough work, as I wrote about here.

3. Experience. Please check the certification, experience, and references of any autism treatment provider you hire. Some practitioners are skilled but out of practice, others may have a lot of hands-on experience.

A good source of additional autism treatment experts are listings of psychologists, speech pathologists, and BCBAs. Eye Contact cannot guarantee the quality and service of any of these autism service providers.

If you would like to add your listing, please contact me.
